Official FIFA App Now Available On iPhone & Android

There’s no shortage of apps on Google Play Store as well as Apple Apps Store that give you the latest scoop on the world of FIFA, but so far, they have all been from third-parties. But now, the International Federation of Association Football (or FIFA) has made available its official app for both Android and iOS platforms simply dubbed FIFA. Released for free a couple of days ago, the app aims to provide football fans with all the latest coverage about the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014 scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July, in addition to giving them access to other FIFA-related news and happenings right in the palm of their hands. The official FIFA app gives you access to all sorts of nitty-gritty details on 197 football leagues worldwide, including the MLS in the United States, and provides exclusive coverage of live news, standings, statistics, photos and videos of your favorite soccer teams and athletes. You can tell the app about your favorite teams, and you will them be able to keep track of everything about them in the world of football.
The interface of FIFA is both clean and simple. The scrollable home screen presents the latest news including photos and stories about players, managers, clubs and matches etc. You can swipe up and down and tap on your desired headline to view the underlying content. When it comes to viewing the actual story, the app lets you control text size that fits your needs, and also enables you to instantly share it using the in-app share menu.

The available content on the home screen can be sorted on the fly via a drop-down menu. Using this menu, you can immediately navigate between all news, photos, videos, FIFA world cup and FIFA rankings. There’s also the navigation drawer that can be swiped in and out of view from the left edge, and lets you navigate to News, World Match Centre, FIFA World Cup and Rankings.

According to the folks at FIFA, the app will keep track of national teams that will be participating in the Final Draw LIVE on the 6th of December, giving die-hand FIFA fans an inside scoop of the whole event. There’s also the World Match Center feature that lets you see fixtures and results of latest matches between national and international FIFA teams.
